So I went on my weekend bike trip, and I decided that I wanted to go exploring. So I decided to go bike out to Prospect Park first.
I haven’t had a chance to go out there just yet, and I was looking for an excuse to cross a couple of bridges. So I set out to hit Prospect Park and possibly Central Park.
I hit Grand Army Plaza. Of coarse I went there, it’s only at 1 of the entrances to Prospect Park.
Then it was time for some riding in Prospect. Gotta love going through such nice entrances
Of coarse I went right!
Well I didn’t take that many pictures inside the park. Too busy biking! Don’t worry, I’ll be back before the end of the year.
Of coarse right outside Prospect Park is the Brooklyn Public Library. And no, I’ve never been there. This is probably the closest I’ve been to it.
Since there wasn’t that many people on the Manhattan Bridge, I decided to get a shot from it. Came out better than I thought. To get this, I had to put part of my iPhone through the fence. Thank God I didn’t drop it!
Once I got off the Manhattan Bridge, I headed east for the East Side Greenway to head up to Central Park.
I never realized there was a little outdoor theater there either!
Of coarse with all the construction on the East Side, I had to bike on 1st Ave for a bit. Not sure what building this is, but it didn’t stop me from taking a picture of it!
I went through Central Park and headed west. Jumped back onto my usual path and headed up to the GWB. I still can’t believe there’s this little lighthouse at the bottom of it. I forgot the history of it. Have to read those info boards again.
This has to be 1 of my favorite spots for pictures. This is up in Fort Washington Park not too far from the lighthouse.
And the last shot of the trip is New Jersey at sunset. Even though it’s Jersey, watching the sunset is always relaxing.
And yes, all these shots were taken w/ my iPhone 4. There’s really nowhere for my to put a camera on my bike.
Here’s the path I took. I used my iPhone 3G to track my progress. I use the Everytrail App which has been great.
And if you’re wondering why I use 2 iPhones, it’s simple. The iPhone battery drains fairly quickly when you’re using the GPS constantly. I don’t want to be stuck somewhere w/ a dead phone, especially if I need to make any phone calls. You have to be prepared for everything!
